Likratech – A Step Forward for Women

The Likratech program exposes young women to important information about the many options available for meaningful post-high school service. This information is clear and accessible so that each young woman can make educated, optimal decisions at such an important milestone in the lives of all people in Israeli society.

Work Model

The program works with religious and secular high schools and offers group workshops and individual guidance provided by a mentor assigned specifically to that school. The mentors are young women who have completed meaningful service themselves and have experience working with the target population. During the group sessions, they present the different tracks available for service; discuss issues such a coping with stress, the benefits of team work, social involvement, women’s leadership, and more; and run simulations to prepare the participants for being selected and screened in the workforce in general, and specifically for meaningful service. The activities and their content are coordinated with the educational institute in which they are offered.

Each year, we run a special theme day, featuring an event in which different service options are presented. Young women who attend this event can talk directly with representatives of the IDF, national service organizations, pre-army preparatory programs, and pre-service volunteer programs, which can help them make the best decisions for themselves.

Our program includes up to 20 group workshops for 11th and 12th grade students in groups of up to 20 participants, and individual support for all the participants over the course of the year.
